"Art can cease to be a report on sensations and become a direct organization of higher sensations. It is a matter of producing ourselves, and not the things that enslave us." -Guy Debord, Internationale Situationniste

CIRCULATION explores the city as body by examining the flow of blood through the city; blood as both a physical entity and as a metaphor for identity.

Circulation is public art project that will allow you to collaborate with REPOhistory through this Web site. Your collaboration will transform this New York City-based public art work into an international art network. Read more in the project description

Circulation flows through three levels—unique but interrelated parts.

PUBLIC ART: Post cards, magnets and other items that will "circulate" through the city. Each of these small, ubiquitous objects is an individual work of art marked with the repohistory URL for further viewing of the entire project on-line.

CREATING A NETWORK/COMMUNITY: The site will receive and display images and text on the Web, giving participants a chance collaborate by discussing their own ideas.

WEB-BASED ART: Interactive works created by REPOhistory artists with links to other work inspired by or in reaction to this project.

Because of lack of resources, this site is currently only available in English.

CIRCULATION is dedicated to the memory of our friend and colleague Ed Eisenberg, who died of AIDS in 1997
